Here’s a little background story into the Mission Pledge Cards in case you missed it…

The front of the missions card shows several things. On the left, we see the words to a the gospel song of “Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere.”. In the main portion, portraits of people (Cambodian, actually) young and old are seen. The words, “When will the world see that they need Jesus?” is quoted from the song of the same title by Petra. In one of the grids, we see the Isaiah 6:8, reminding us to ready ourselves for God’s call on missions.

The back of the card shows 3 basic things one can do for missions; Pray, Go or Give. Prayer can only be achieved by the prayer partners of any missions team. Going for missions is an exciting and enjoyable experience. Its not really as hard as many people think. Just learn to enjoy the country and believe in God for His provision & protection. Giving is actually key point for the Missions Convention. Money to help these trips happen is necessary. Money to help the people is also from this pool. Money to start them on a road to a better life begins here. (If you missed out on pledging, download the e-pledge and email it back to us).
Here’s the video shown at Missions Convention 2007 during the pledge taking. Read on for tidbits to the video.
Music
Two songs were used in this video, tobyMac’s “One World” and August Way’s “Louder Than Words” (If you register to their website, you can get a free mp3 of the song).
Footage
Most of the footage were from the 2006 Cambodia & Sabah Mission Trips. Interviews with people were done back in Perth, Australia.
Trivia
- Did you notice the bump on James’s head from when he knocked into a pole at work?
- The dustbin behind Pastor Yat Wan and his spotted vest?
- “China” is missing for logical reasons

Mr James Hanna and Dr Joseph Ng
In support of the 2007 NLCC Missions programme, the Clinical Training and Education Centre (CTEC) at UWA has kindly donated to us a variety of medical and non-medical supplies for distribution. CTEC is Australasia’s premier medical and surgical skills training centre, providing innovative training for healthcare professionals in a high-fidelity environment.
Mr James Hanna (Simulation Instructor, CTEC) and I met at a training course at CTEC following last year’s Missions Impact trip to Cambodia. After Mr Hanna heard about the plight of the Cambodian people, he and his fellow colleagues at CTEC
were moved to undertake a collection drive for surplus medical equipment, in support of NLCC’s efforts.
In true Christmas spirit, toys and clothing were mixed in amongst the boxes of medical supplies! Much of the material will be used or distributed appropriately in the upcoming December mission to Cambodia, whilst others will be put to good use by
other groups locally and abroad.
We wish to thank Mr Hanna and CTEC for their support, and look forward to their ongoing collaboration in future projects. It is especially encouraging to see other on-campus groups get behind our efforts to impact other nations for Christ!

For the month of May, we will have hints and sneak peaks leading up to the convention (June 3rd, 2007). So mark that date and be there for a great Sunday.
